Being primarily an elopement photographer, I only take about five to ten family sessions a year. But when I do get the honor, it’s always SUCH a joy to document memories for parents and their precious littles. My time with the Ogdens during their Athens, Georgia family session was no different!
As a mom of three myself, family sessions truly hold a special place in my heart. I know how quickly they grow. I know how fleeting these moments are. And I’ve definitely taken different stages they’ve been in for granted — thinking they’d last forever, or at least longer than they did. And knowing all those things helps me to see things from a different perspective.
While you’re invested in the memories you’re making with your family during our session together, I’m documenting all the little moments and details that you might miss or forget. It’s only a matter of time before they stop stealing your hat. It’s only a matter of time before their baby toes grow. And we all dream of them looking at us like we’re the most perfect people on the planet forever!
Family sessions shouldn’t be about forcing everyone into uncomfy outfits or stillness or fake smiles. Family sessions should be about FAMILY. Where you like to be. What you love doing together. And taking a break from the busyness of life to spend some intentional, quality time together! Which is exactly what we planned for Megan, Blake, and their sweet kiddos. They go to this park all the time, canoe, kayak, play guitar, and play as free as birds! And I was overjoyed to create something tangible for their memories to live through forever. This is only a sneak preview!
As for all my photography work, my mission is for you guys to make memories together, and foster connection, while I do the rest.
